I wanted to share some collective moments from my past few weekends in Shenzhen. I have been striving to take time to pause. Moreso now that I have picked up all the extra tutoring.
To the left is from a dinner party and on the right is sweet and sour fish. An off menu item!
Drinking pretty tea in the art area of Shenzhen.
Not a weekend but a field trip to the aquarium and an amusement park.
The next three are from an open mic night. On this occasion I did not sing.
China is polluted. This is the tallest building in Shenzhen, and no it does not reach the clouds.
Flying lanterns. Here is an example of Chinese safety. We did the lanterns at a school with a bunch of teachers. They did it in a small atrium and used actual fire and we flew them like kites. Safe right?
A random girls night.
I subjected myself to another Chinese hike. This time it was not stairs and nobody was in heels. We climbed Wutong mountain, the highest point in Shenzhen. Only a portion of it was stairs but I'll be damned if it wasn't a challenge. Six hours of hiking in heat, but a lovely day with friends.
Someone lugged their guitar and amplifier up to the peak. It looked like the sermon on the mount from a distance. As you got closer it was clearly Chinese pop music.
We made it to the top.
The last one is from a night out to dinner with my friend's contact teacher. We had delicious Thai food then went to see Cinderella, another Chinese cinema experience.
